KUALA LUMPUR – A total of 1,184 candidates, or 2.84 per cent of the Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) 2022 candidates, obtained a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.00, marking an improvement compared to the 2.41 per cent achievement in 2021.
Out of the total, 1,009 candidates, or 85.22 per cent, belonged to the B40 category.
The national CGPA for STPM 2022 has increased by 0.03 points compared to the previous year, rising from 2.79 in 2021 to 2.82 in 2022.
The Malaysian Examinations Council (MPM), in a statement, announced that this year’s national CGPA is also the highest recorded since the implementation of the STPM examination.
“In terms of CGPA achievement, it was found that the percentage of STPM 2022 candidates with CGPA of 3.75 and above is 9.59 per cent, CGPA of 3.0 (42.96 per cent), CGPA of 2.75 and above (56.76 per cent), and CGPA 2.0 and above is 89.75 per cent,” it said.
MPM today announced the results of the STPM Examination for the Academic Session 2022.
Meanwhile, the STPM performance in Perak last year recorded 108 candidates achieving a CGPA of 4.0.
This figure increased by 34 candidates, or 0.96 per cent, compared to 74 candidates in STPM 2021.
A total of 1,381 candidates achieved CGPA between 3.0 and 4.0, with an overall record of 40.37 per cent of students obtaining good results.
Jalan Tasek National Secondary School, Sam Tet National Type Secondary School, St. Michael National Secondary School, and Methodist National Secondary School are the schools that achieved the best results.
A total of 3,421 candidates from various schools attended the STPM 2022 examination at 55 centres across the state.
