After a 19-year engagement, Hollywood actress and Ipoh native, Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh, has finally become the wife of former Ferrari Chief Executive Officer, Jean Todt, yesterday.
The couple was united in a ceremony attended by their family and close friends in Geneva, Switzerland.
The joyous news was shared by an invitee and Formula 1 racer, Felipe Massa, who also extended his congratulations to the newlyweds.
“Congratulations on your marriage, Jean Todt and Michelle Yeoh. Much love to both of you,” wrote the Brazilian-born racer on Instagram.
Massa also shared a glimpse of the invitation card for the historic day between Yeoh, 60, and Todt, 77.
In the past, Yeoh and Todt first met on June 4, 2004, at the Shanghai Grand Prix, where the former Miss Malaysia 1983 was doing publicity for the Ferrari car brand, while Todt held the position of Team Principal at that time.
Yeoh, who achieved success with her role as Evelyn Wang in the film “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” is considered one of the most successful and influential Asian actresses. She was previously married to Hong Kong businessman Dickson Poon in 1988 but they separated in 1991.
Yeoh is the first Asian actress to win the Best Actress award at the 95th Academy Awards (Oscars).
