IPOH: A woman died, while another two were injured after the car they were riding in crashed in an accident at KM 282.7 of the South North Highway (PLUS) heading north here today.
The 33-year-old victim who was riding in a Toyota Vios vehicle was confirmed dead at the scene of the incident, while a 34-year-old man and a 2-year-old boy were injured.
Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division Assistant Director, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said, his side received an emergency call at 12.39pm informing about the incident before members of the Simpang Pulai Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) rushed to the scene.
“An accident involving a Toyoto Vios type has crashed on the shoulder of the road.
“There were three victims involved, one of them was confirmed dead at the scene by the Ministry of Health,” he said in a statement here today.
“Victims who suffered minor injuries were taken to the hospital by Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS), while the dead victim was handed over to the police for further action.
“The entire operation ended completely at 1.34pm and the operation was led by Operation Commander Ismady Muhamud,” he said.
