A deaf citizen of Perak to represent Malaysia in the 5th World Deaf Tenpin Bowling Championship.

A deaf Perak citizen has been selected to represent Malaysia in the 5th World Deaf Bowling Tenpin Championship which will take place in Munich, Germany on August 1 to 12, 2023.
The president of the Perak Deaf Sports Association (PESDeaf), Lam Wai Hoong, said he sent a deaf Tenpin Bowling athlete from the state of Perak, Muhammad Syahmi Azad Bin Abd Hamid, who is only 23 years old and was born in Ipoh, to the 5th World Deaf Bowling Championships (Deaflympics) to Munich, Germany, who are the host. He will be together with the Tenpin Bowling deaf team under the Malaysia Deaf Sports Association (MSDeaf) to represent Malaysia for Individual (Master), Double, Trios & Team of 4 events.
Muhammad Syahmi Azab had performed well on the international stage last year. He has won two Silver medals at the 24th Summer Deaflympics which took place in Kuala Lumpur on October 20 to 30, 2022.
At the first SEA Deaf Games held on November 21 to 27, 2022, Muhammad Syahmi Azab also won three gold medals and one silver medal.
Muhammad Syahmi Azab and his team will vie for a gold medal during the 5th World Deaf Bowling Tenpin Championship for the country of Malaysia and also the state of Perak.
