Manjung: The public is urged to come forward with any information related to a teenage male from Indonesia, who was a disabled individual (OKU), and tragically lost his life in a house fire at Kampung Dato’ Seri Kamaruddin, here. The incident occurred on Tuesday at 4:08 p.m.
The District Police Chief of Manjung, ACP Mohamed Nordin Abdullah, stated that they received a call from a member of the public regarding the house fire in that area.
Upon receiving the information, police officers from the Manjung District Police Headquarters (IPD) swiftly rushed to the location, along with the Fire and Rescue Department and the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) of Manjung, to extinguish the blaze.
“During the investigation at the house, the police discovered the lifeless body of a 15-year-old Indonesian male. Preliminary findings indicate no signs of foul play at the time of the incident.
The victim, who was a disabled individual and had a history of epilepsy treatment at Hospital Seri Manjung, lived in the house with his mother and sister.
“At the time of the incident, the victim was alone inside the house. He was taken to Hospital Seri Manjung for further examination to determine the cause of death.
“Currently, the case is classified as sudden death (SDR),” he informed reporters last night”.
ACP Mohamed Nordin added that members of the public who possess any information concerning the incident can contact the Manjung District Police Headquarters Operations Room at 05-6886222 or the nearest police station to assist in the investigation.
Earlier, the media reported on the unfortunate incident where a 15-year-old disabled male was found lifeless on a bed in one of the rooms during a house fire at Kampung Dato’ Sri Kamaruddin, here, on Tuesday evening.
The victim’s death was confirmed on-site by officers from the Malaysian Ministry of Health (KKM).
