The Shen Jai Education Group (SJEG), known for its commitment to imparting industry-relevant knowledge and skills through accredited programs, such as those offered by Kompas International College (KIC) & Shen Jai TVET College (SJTC), is reaching a new milestone. The inauguration of Shen Jai Confucius Institute (SJCI) marks an important addition to the group’s offerings.
This development is significant as SJCI becomes the first Confucius Institute in the northern region of Peninsular Malaysia. This establishment aligns with the growing trend of Confucius Institutes worldwide, fostering networks that promote educational exchange between various countries and China.

The primary focus of SJCI lies in promoting the understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture and language. A diverse range of programs is designed to cater to people from all backgrounds, enhancing their understanding of Chinese culture and language.
Language and culture are intertwined, and SJCI plays a key role in crafting Chinese language courses, training educators, and conducting proficiency tests, including the HSK Examination. These efforts cater not only to individuals with prior language exposure but also to non-native speakers keen on learning Chinese from scratch.
SJCI’s scope extends beyond language education. The institute plans to host cultural presentations, including talks, forums, Chinese calligraphy, arts and crafts, and musical performances, offering an enriching experience for residents of Perak and the northern region.
Xidian University (XDU), a prestigious institution directly under the Chinese Ministry of Education, is SJCI’s pioneering collaborative partner. Renowned for its electronic and information science disciplines, XDU’s partnership with SJCI aims to provide quality education opportunities. XDU, established in 1931, has earned recognition for its research achievements across various disciplines.
For those in the corporate sector looking to expand into China, SJCI provides a platform with workshops, forums, and industry-oriented activities. The institute’s offerings encompass Han Yu (Mandarin) classes, teacher training, on-the-job Mandarin training, multicultural activities, cross-cultural exchanges, and forums focusing on Malaysian-Chinese business interactions.
