TAMBUN: The task of river cleaning and upgrading the riverbank near SJKT Ladang Strathisla has commenced and is expected to be fully completed by the end of this month.
According to a statement from the Tambun Parliamentary Office, they had received complaints regarding the issues of river erosion and high water levels in front of the school’s main entrance last April.
The statement highlighted that this issue had persisted for some time, yet no concrete actions were taken to address it.
Consequently, the concerned officials visited the site to assess the actual situation and raised the matter with the Kinta District Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS).
“Funds for the repair work have been approved, and a contractor has been appointed by the JPS,” it added.
Furthermore, the river cleaning and riverbank upgrading works have already commenced, and the project is anticipated to be completed by August of this year.
The Tambun Parliamentary Office extends its appreciation to the JPS for their swift response, taking into account the safety of the school’s residents.
“This aligns with the principles of the Tambun Parliamentary Office in prioritizing such matters,” stated the office.
