IPOH: There was a chemical spill after a tanker lorry carrying a load of Methanol type chemical had a small leak at the stop KM 290.4 PLUS heading north here on Thursday recently.
Assistant Director of the Operations Division of the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said, his side received a call to inform about the incident at 5.34pm.
According to him, BBP Pasir Puteh members assisted by BBP Simpang Pulai rushed to the scene of the incident to carry out rescue operations.
“The leak involved a Shacman type tanker lorry carrying a load of Methanol type chemicals.
“It had suffered a small leak at the back of the tank which is connected to the lorry during at Simpang Pulai stop heading north,” he said in a statement here.
He said the operation was conducted by the Operation Commander, Saiful Yazan Mohd Shariff.
