Ipoh – Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah of Perak graciously attended the “Fostering Loyalty to the Monarch and Nation” program in celebration of the Perak State-level Independence Month 2023.
The event took place at the Banquet Hall, Perak Darul Ridzuan Building.
Accompanying his majesty was the Raja Permaisuri of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim.
Also present were the Raja Muda of Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa; Raja Dihilir of Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris A’fifullah Shah; and the Raja Puan Muda of Perak, Tunku Soraya Sultan Abdul Halim.
Upon arrival, Sultan Nazrin was welcomed by the Chief Minister, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad, the Minister of Communications and Digital, Fahmi Fadzil, as well as the Minister of Education, Fadhlina Sidek.
The program is jointly organized by the State Secretariat Office and the Perak State Education Department. It aims to instil a national identity among school students in Perak, fostering an understanding and appreciation for the second principle of the Rukun Negara – loyalty to the king and nation.
To achieve this objective, various competitions were designed and held, including Royal Speech contests, essay writing in Malay and English, poetry writing, caricature drawing, poster designing, rhythmic speaking, and choral speaking.
During the event, Sultan Nazrin had the honour of presenting awards to the winners of the Malay and English speech contests in secondary schools.
The winners were Rafaa Ahmad Muneer from SMK Agama Kerian and Muhammad Asyraf Rosman from SMK Buyong Adil, Batang Padang. Each received a cash prize of RM750 and a rotating trophy.
In addition, his majesty also bestowed prizes to the winners of the poetry writing, caricature drawing, rhythmic speaking, and choral speaking contests.
