Ipoh – The Ipoh City Council (MBI) contingent has once again proven its excellence by claiming the coveted title of Best Parade & Dress in the Local Authority, Statutory Body, Private Sector, and Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) category during today’s grand procession marking the 66th Independence Day.
This remarkable achievement has earned the contingent a substantial reward of RM5,000 (for the best parade) and another RM5,000 (for the best dress), accompanied by certificates presented by His Royal Highness, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah of Perak.
This year the MBI contingent presented clothes with a warrior concept based on traditional Malay culture from ancient times with a combination of colors that symbolize bravery.
The colours were also reminiscent of the Jalur Gemilang, showing prosperity coinciding with the slogan Madani Malaysia, which attracted the attention of the judges.
The dress was designed by Pn. Farida bt. Abdul Aziz from MBI’s Corporate Planning Department.
The MBI contingent consisted of 55 officers including officers from various departments. They started training since August 1, 2023.
This success is also owing to the support and guidance of the Mayor of Ipoh, Dato’ Rumaizi Baharin and the City Secretary, Ahmad Munir Ishak.
