KUALA KANGSAR: Kuala Kangsar Municipal Council (MPKK) will take strict action against any party or individual who tries to obstruct the duties of its members while carrying out their duties.

Earlier, a Pakistani man was fined RM4,000 by the Kuala Kangsar Magistrate’s Court on 14 September 2023 for an offence under Section 186.

MPKK in a statement informed that the man had previously broken the rules for not paying parking charges.

The incident occurred on September 12, at 10.15am involving two members of the Vehicle Parking Unit while on duty at Taman Lavender, Kuala Kangsar.

“The accused’s car violated the rules of not paying parking charges and the enforcement officers issued a compound and handed it to the accused.

“However, the accused uttered abusive words and tore up the compound letter,” said the statement.

Following that, a police report was made at the Kuala Kangsar District Police Headquarters and the accused was arrested.

The MPKK advises the public not to do this kind of provocation to any of its members.

Actions like this are taken to serve as a lesson to all parties.
