IPOH – Rallying the voices of Perak’s youth to collectively drive the state’s progress is the ambition of the candidate for the Perak Youth Council in the 2023/2024 session, Syed Alif Rikiman Syed Alwi.
Syed Alif Rikiman is contesting for a seat in the Perak Youth Council within the Pangkor State Assembly (DUN Pangkor).
This visionary young leader firmly asserts his desire to advance the youth movement in line with the state government’s aspirations, with the ultimate goal of contributing to the achievement of the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030 (RMK-13).
“In my commitment to advancing Pangkor, my goal is to strengthen its status as a duty-free island, transforming it into a tourist-friendly destination in alignment with the vision and mission of the state of Perak, particularly infusing progress into the Lumut Parliamentary constituency.
“This, indirectly, will bring significant economic benefits to the tourism industry, ensuring that the entire populace, especially the younger generation, reaps the rewards,” he stated.
Meanwhile, around 300 candidates are expected to register to represent each State Assembly constituency for the 2023/2024 Perak Youth Council election.
This registration process is to elect 59 representatives who will convene at least once a year in the Perak Youth Council.
The registration period was open from August 25th to September 8th, with voter registration taking place from August 25th to September 29th.
Perak’s youth will shoulder the responsibility of voting for their representatives from September 30th to October 1st.
The establishment of the Perak Youth Council is the state government’s initiative to elevate the voice and dignity of the youth in the region.
Through this platform, representatives have an optimal space to discuss issues related to youth, the public, and the state, as well as to propose extraordinary, innovative ideas.
