BIDOR – Four individuals were rescued after a Peugeot vehicle they were in went up in flames at kilometre 335.3 on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) in the northbound direction today.
A spokesperson for the Perak State Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) reported that they received a call regarding the incident at 12:56 p.m.
He further stated that firefighters from the Bidor Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the scene.
“The fire involved a Peugeot sedan carrying a driver and three passengers. All of them are safe, and the vehicle was destroyed, about 95 per cent,” he said on Saturday.
He added that the firefighters successfully extinguished the fire using a single water hose reel from the fire engine.
The operation was brought under control at 1:38 PM and concluded at 1:42 PM.
The operation was led by Senior Fire Officer II Mohd Tarmizi Hassan.
