MANJUNG: There will surely be results when one treats the land with kindness.
Thanks to their relentless efforts, spirit, and always showing gratitude to the land, it has never been a loss but rather a profitable endeavour.
Such are the efforts of the members of the Kebun Komuniti Bandar KRT Seri Manjung VII, who are now reaping the rewards of their vegetable cultivation.
Previously, they cultivated leafy vegetables, but this time they have shifted to fruit-type vegetables, namely long beans.
Long beans are grown using the ‘Para Trellis’ system, which is more economical, practical, and easy to manage.
What’s even more interesting is that these vegetables are free from harmful insecticides. It feels safer and more assured when the community can grow the vegetables they intend to eat themselves.
The residents’ efforts have also received cooperation from the Manjung Municipal Council as a strategy to promote social interaction among the community in the urban residential area while also embracing the green neighbourhood concept.
