IPOH:A 55-year-old man who worked as a gardener was arrested after being suspected in a murder case at the security guard hut of a school near Bandar Sri Botani here, in the early hours of Saturday.
The Ipoh District Police Chief, ACP Yahaya Hassan, announced in a statement on Sunday that the Ipoh District Police Headquarters received information from the public regarding the death case at the school’s security guard hut at 3:34 am yesterday.
He further stated that the initial investigation by the police at the scene found a 43-year-old man in an unconscious state leaning against the wall of the school’s security guard hut.
“The victim was confirmed dead by ambulance personnel from Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB), Ipoh.
“The police also arrested a 55-year-old man who worked as a gardener at the school and seized the weapon used by the suspect for further investigation.
“The post-mortem examination of the victim’s body revealed that the cause of death was abdominal injuries due to blunt trauma,” he said in a late-night statement.
Therefore, Yahaya said the case was classified as a murder case and would be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, and the suspect would be brought to the Ipoh Magistrate’s Court on Sunday for a remand application.
He further clarified that with the capture of the suspect, the case had been successfully resolved.
“The investigation team will complete the investigation of this case and refer the investigation papers to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for charging recommendations,” he said.
