BAGAN SERAI:The police have arrested an elderly couple and their son to assist in the investigation of the death of a young boy in Taman Serai Permai here.
All of them will be remanded for seven days starting from today.
The Kerian District Police Chief, Superintendent Juna Yusoff, said the detention was carried out last Friday at the Bagan Serai Health Clinic.
“The remand period is to allow the police to complete a thorough investigation, which is being conducted under Section 302 of the Penal Code,” he said.
Previously, the media reported that the unfortunate child, Ayyash Aulian Muhamad Faizul, 2 years old, was confirmed to have died at the Bagan Serai Health Clinic.
The victim is believed to have been abused by his mother’s male friend after taking the child from the woman to care for him.
The autopsy revealed that Ayyash Aulian’s death was caused by severe bleeding in the head due to blunt force trauma.
Additionally, there were injuries to the entire body with apparent burn marks believed to be from a hot object
