IPOH, Malaysia – Khaljaksa Khalil, a well-known Malaysian hairdresser, readily extended his support to breast cancer patients during the recent “Fight For Pink, Act For Blue” campaign at Aeon Klebang, recently.
According to him, the invitation from the organizers of the campaign opened up a great opportunity for him to carry out charitable work using his skillset.
“Through this campaign, we successfully trimmed the hair of 46 individuals, offering our services at a mere RM5.00 per head. The proceeds from this were handed over to the Pink Champion Perak Association (PPCP).
“In addition, we provided an opportunity for the public to donate hair measuring up to 6 inches in length to be used in making wigs.
“Eight visitors generously donated their hair. I will be crafting these wigs, which will be presented to cancer patients during an upcoming event,” said Khalil, who is also the Founder and Creative Director of Khal Hair Salon Sdn Bhd, located in Subang Jaya, Selangor.
The one-day campaign was organized by the Perak Community Specialist Hospital (PCSH) in collaboration with Kinta Properties Holdings Sdn Bhd and the International Ipoh Fashion Week (IFW).
Meanwhile, the Chairman of PPCP, Mardianah Mohd Yusof, mentioned that the campaign had a significant impact in raising awareness about breast cancer among the public.
“This campaign has been particularly beneficial for the general public. We want to share our experiences as fighters against breast cancer and our strong spirit in combating this disease.
“We welcome cancer patients who wish to join PPCP. They can contact me on 012 516 1240. I am confident that after joining PPCP, their confidence and spirit will continue to grow through various shared experiences from those who are going through a similar journey,” she said.
