TELUK INTAN: Six teenage boys were arrested after they were believed to be involved in a case of group rape of a Form 2 female student, at a house in Hutan Melintang, here, last September.
The Deputy Police Chief of Hilir Perak, Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Adnan Basri, stated that five of the teenagers were students from the same school as the victim, while one had already dropped out of school.
He mentioned that the police received a report about the incident from the victim’s mother on the previous Tuesday at 8:30 pm.
“The school had informed the victim’s mother about the incident before the police report was filed.
“The incident is believed to have occurred on September 24th at around 2:30 am in a house near Hutan Melintang.
“The 14-year-old victim was picked up by a known schoolmate and taken to the house.
“Upon arrival, she found several known males resting in the house.
“The victim was then coerced into engaging in sexual activities by five local males aged between 15 and 17 years, except for the one who brought her to the house,” he said through statement here today.
Ahmad Adnan said, In response to this information, the police arrested the six males on October 18th, with five of them still attending the same school as the victim. While the 17-year-old had dropped out of school.
“All suspects have been remanded for three days from October 18th to 20th.
“Given that the victim is a minor, the police are conducting an investigation under Section 375b of the Penal Code, which pertains to group rape.
“The police consider the investigation into this case closed and the investigation documents will be referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further instructions,” he said.
