PANGKOR: In preparation to celebrate Deepavali in just a few days, the fate of the less fortunate is not forgotten.
The Pangkor State Assembly Service Center has successfully delivered Deepavali contributions to the Indian community residents on Pangkor Island.
The visit was led by Pangkor State Assembly Member Norhaslinda Zakaria along with the Pangkor Island Community Welfare Association.
Several less fortunate families received contributions in the form of cash and basic necessities.
According to Norhaslinda, this charitable visit is not just about delivering Deepavali contributions but also about caring for residents facing unresolved issues.
“There are cases of single mothers who are sick and in need of attention, and we assist them in filling out assistance applications with the Department of Social Welfare (JKM).
“Through the Pangkor DUN Service Center, we will address this issue for the attention of JKM,” she said.
Deepavali contributions were also presented to members of the Taxi and Car Rental Association in Lumut.
