Prime Minister Approves RM77,500 Aid for Flood Victims in Perak

BAGAN SERAI: The plight of flood victims in Perak has garnered the attention of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who has approved aid totalling RM77,500. This move aims to alleviate the burden on affected families.

The announcement was made by the Senior Political Secretary to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin, during his inspection of the flood victims’ situation at the Temporary Evacuation Center (PPS) of Changkat Lobak National School here.

According to him, the Prime Minister has sanctioned a one-time aid of RM500 for each family in Perak, with the total allocation specified.

“The Prime Minister has also directed that the cash assistance to flood victims be tailored according to the level of damage. This reflects the Prime Minister’s concern, demonstrating that the government will not overlook the plight of flood victims,” he stated.

At present, the number of flood victims in Perak is on the decline, with 423 victims from 127 families compared to 432 from 130 families yesterday.

All flood victims are currently accommodated in five PPS in Lower Perak and Kerian.
