Road closure in conjunction with the Sultan Nazrin Shah 2023 Birthday Run

TAIPING: Road closures will be implemented in several areas here in conjunction with the Sultan Nazrin Shah 2023 Birthday Run on Sunday, November 19.

According to the Taiping District Police Chief, ACP Razlam Ab Hamid, the temporary road closures will be carried out by the Taiping District Police Headquarters (IPD) starting at 5:15 am until the end of the event.

He said that the roads and areas involved in the road closure are as follows, starting the run at Dataran Warisan Taiping:

  • Jalan Alang Ahmad/Public Bank, Jalan Manecksha, Jalan Alang Ahmad/Jalan Kota (closing towards MCD and Dataran Warisan), Jalan Pasar/Jalan Alang Ahmad (7Eleven).
  • Traffic lights at Jalan Tamingsari (AM Bank) (closing towards Dataran Warisan and IPD Taiping), Jalan Ong Saik/Jalan Barrack (closing towards Pos Office and Larut Restaurant).
  • Jalan Lim Tee Hooi, Jalan Lim Teong Chye, Jalan Panglima Ah Chong, Jalan Chun Thye Ping, Lorong Arasarathnam (in front of Hong Leong Bank), Jalan Yusof (next to Hong Leong Bank), Jalan Abdul Jalil (beside Hospital Taiping).
  • Rear entrance of Hospital Taiping (open for ambulances only), traffic lights at Jalan Stesyen/Assam Kumbang (closing towards Taiping), entrance from BHP Taman Happy Park towards Lotus Supermarket is closed.
  • Taman Zenith junction (exit towards Flyover Assam Kumbang), Jalan Anak Bukit, traffic lights at Hotel Sense (under the Flyover) (vehicles from the hotel towards Kamunting, junction towards Columbia Asia Hospital).
  • Jalan Kelab Lama (IPD Taiping Multipurpose Hall), junction of Jalan Muzium/Jalan Temenggung (TMGS), Penjara Quarters Lane (behind Taiping Museum), Penjara Quarters Lane along Jalan Taming Sari.
  • Traffic lights at Penjara Taiping (vehicles towards Jalan Kamunting Lama only), Jalan Lumba Kuda (SK(P) Treachers Methodist), SP/2 Lane (vehicles from Taman Suria Permai towards traffic lights at the prison), junction three of Hotel Grand Baron (vehicles from Taman Sentosa towards Bukit Larut), junction three of Taman Botani.
  • Junction three of Jalan Padang Tembak, traffic lights at Masjid Kamunting (closing towards Penjara Taiping), traffic lights at Hotel SSL (closing towards Penjara Taiping), entrance and exit of ECO Kamunting store (vehicles in and out through the rear road of ECO).
  • Traffic lights at Bukit Mas (vehicles towards Kamunting), entrance/exit of Taman Dato Seri Razak (vehicles from the park towards Kamunting), Junction of Jalan Kamunting Lama/Taman Lake View (vehicles from the park towards Kamunting).
  • Junction of Jalan Kamunting Lama/Taiping Vista Hill (vehicles from the park towards Kamunting), New Club junction (MESS Military Officers), Dataran Kedamaian, junction of Tasik Lestari/Taman Aun Say (closing towards Zoo Taiping).

Therefore, the public is advised to cooperate, follow police instructions, plan their journeys in advance, and use alternative routes to facilitate travel.
