IPOH: A public hearing session (town hall) was conducted to gather public feedback regarding the proposal to construct a private cemetery (columbarium and crematorium) on Jalan Tambun.
Approximately 215 attendees, including Council Members, officials from the Ipoh City Council, residents of Bandar Baru Tambun, Taman Perpaduan Indah, and the vicinity of the proposed site, participated in the session held at the Multipurpose Hall RPT Batu 4, Tambun.
The proposal for the private cemetery site covers a reserved land of 3.40 acres (1.3767 hectares) located on Jalan Tambun near Bandar Baru Tambun and Taman Perpaduan Indah. The site was previously gazetted as a public facility and designated for use as a Buddhist Crematorium (Warta No. 1535 dated November 26, 1962).
This public hearing session was conducted to gather views and feedback from the public regarding the proposal, by the provisions of the Town and Country Planning Act 1976 (Act 172).
The session also provided an opportunity for residents to be part of a transparent and integrity-driven planning and development process.
All objections raised by residents have been duly recorded and will form the basis for consideration in the approval process for this application.
