TAIPING: Over 9,000 people participated in the Sultan Nazrin Shah 2023 Birthday Run programme at Dataran Warisan here recently.
The annual event was held outside the Royal Town of Kuala Kangsar for the first time
Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, and Queen of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim, graciously participated in the running event.
Also present were His Majesty’s daughter, Raja Nazira Safya Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, and the Young Prince of Perak Darul Ridzuan, Raja Dato’ Seri Ahmad Nazim Azlan Shah Raja Ashman Shah.
Attending together, Raja Dato’ Seri Yong Sofia Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah had the honor of officiating the running event for the honorary guests (VVIP) in the 3-kilometer category.
The Sultan of Perak officiated the commencement of the 15-kilometer category, with 4,240 participants, as well as the 10-kilometer category, with 4,179 participants.
Meanwhile, at the Esplanade Field, the atmosphere was heightened with a military exhibition, combat demonstrations by the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM), parachuting (Parachute Jump), precision drill formations, and a ‘Fire Dragon’ performance.
The Perak Museum also organized popular sports activities, magnet painting on boxes, and an exhibition on World War II.
In addition, the Department of Prisons held a special exhibition showcasing the uniforms of former prison officers, craft exhibitions, ceramics, and the sale of prison products.
