Ipoh’s social calendar reached a crescendo as the Royal Perak Golf Club’s Jubilee Ballroom played venue to the dazzling International Ipoh Fashion Week (IIFW) 5.0 Charity Royal Gala Dinner. This star-studded affair seamlessly blended glamour and philanthropy, transforming the space into a runway of vibrant cultural tapestry.
The evening kicked off with an air of excitement, highlighted by the presence of celebrities, fashion aficionados, and a touch of royal elegance as Her Royal Highness Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim, along with members of the Royal Family, graced the event.
More than 80 models, a mix of local and international talents, took centre stage. The Jubilee Ballroom at the Royal Perak Golf Club was transformed into a runway of dreams, featuring the creations of over 10 designers and brands from around the globe, including Indonesia, Singapore, Nepal, China, and Malaysia.
IIFW brings together local and international fashion talents, providing them with the opportunity to showcase their creative flair on the largest stage in Ipoh’s fashion calendar.
IIFW prides itself on its commitment to nurturing emerging talents, and this year’s event was no exception. Designers like Farel Mikhail x Precious of Malaysia, UITM, Kolej Komuniti Batu Gajah, Khair Johari from Perak, Rohacraft, Sha_Nad Studio, Lucky 7, and FM@Cheongsam to name a few, showcased their exquisite designs.
Beyond the glitz and glamour, the evening held a deeper purpose. The proceeds from the charity dinner, totaling RM36,183, were generously donated to Hospital Sri Manjung. A standout moment came from veteran singer Datuk DJ Dave, who not only entertained the audience with a rendition of three songs but also donated his entire fee of RM10,000 to the same beneficiary.
The Gala served as a vital platform to generate funds for critically needed medical facilities, offering hope and support to children and their families facing medical challenges. Last year, the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh received RM104,000 worth of medical equipment purchased from funds raised through the IIFW 4.0 Charity Gala Dinner. This year’s focus is on supporting the Paediatric High Dependency Unit (PHDU) at Hospital Seri Manjung in Seri Manjung, Lumut, Perak.
Founded by Louis Sebastian in 2017, IIFW has evolved into a global sensation, boasting followers from 87 countries on their website. The success of IIFW lies not just in its glamorous runway but in its ability to create a platform where cultures collide, traditions blend, and artistry flourishes.
The culmination of the Gala Dinner marked not only the end of a spectacular evening but also the anticipation of the next chapter in IIFW’s journey. With a legacy of glamour, cultural celebration, and a heartfelt commitment to philanthropy, IIFW continues to set the stage for Malaysia’s emergence as a global fashion hub.
