IPOH: The police successfully arrested a local man for engaging in illegal parking attendant activities around Leong Sin Nam Street yesterday
The Ipoh District Police, in a statement on Facebook, reported that the 52-year-old man was arrested during a Special Operation against Illegal Parking Attendants in the city.
The operation was conducted by the Surveillance/Operation Unit, Traffic Enforcement Branch, Investigation and Traffic Enforcement Division, IPD Ipoh, Perak.
According to the statement, the operation involved patrol surveillance based on public complaints regarding the ‘Ulat Parkir’ activities in the central areas of Ipoh City.
The police emphasised that individuals found guilty and involved in ‘Ulat Parkir’ activities can be prosecuted under Section 50(3) of the Act and Section 119(2) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
“Thanks to the concerned residents of Ipoh for providing information to the police, leading to the apprehension of the suspect.
“The Ipoh District Police will enhance law enforcement operations in and around Ipoh City to combat illegal parking attendant activities that cause distress to the public, including foreign tourists,” said the statement.
