GERIK:A high-powered motorcycle rider died after skidding under a four-wheeled vehicle on the East-West Road (JRTB) towards Titiwangsa this afternoon.
Assistant Director of Operations of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) in Perak, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, said that the male victim in his 50s was confirmed dead at the scene.
He mentioned that they received an emergency call at 5:03 pm before members from the Gerik Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the incident location.
“The accident involved a 4×4 Hilux vehicle and a high-powered motorcycle.
“The motorcycle rider had fallen under the Hilux and the body was successfully extricated by the rescue team.
“The victim was confirmed to be dead at the scene by the Malaysian Ministry of Health personnel,” he told reporters here today.
The operation was led by Senior Fire Officer II Kamarul Ariffin Abd Ghani.
