The Educational, Welfare & Research Foundation (EWRF) Malaysia, Ipoh Branch, organised a programme called Empowering Students to Pursue their Dreams through Career Guidance Inspiration.
This was held at the Dewan Sri Kandi at SMK Sri Puteri earlier this week, on December 13, from 8.30 am to 1.00 pm. Over 180 female students participated, with lunch being provided.
The speaker of the programme was Mr. Segaran, an EWRF Project Manager, who was accompanied by the programme coordinator, Madam Jiva Sunganya, and a closing speech was given by Mr. Sylverster Dhas, the EWRF Ipoh Branch Chairman, who gave special thanks to Pm. Mahsuri Abd. Rahman, the headmistress of SMK Sri Puteri as well as other members of the faculty and supporters of EWRF.
In his speech, Mr. Sylverster noted that career guidance is a comprehensive developmental system, designed to assist individuals in making and implementing informed educational and occupational choices,as these choices will have an effect on their future social, financial and even emotional well-being.
He noted the importance of education and how EWRF was in support of it, particularly in regards to the Indian students.
Mr. Sylverster had spoken to Ipoh Echo and had said that he intends to galvanise the EWRF Ipoh Branch to become an even more active contributor to the community.
