KUALA KANGSAR: The female dormitory at Sultan Azlan Shah University (USAS) here was destroyed by a fire, with 80 percent of the facility affected in last night’s incident.
Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, Assistant Director of the Operations Division of the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, stated that they received a call regarding the incident at 9:34 pm.
He mentioned that personnel from the Kuala Kangsar Fire and Rescue Station, assisted by the Sungai Siput Fire and Rescue Station, rushed to the location.
“Upon arrival, the team found the fire involving the female dormitory on the third floor, measuring 15X15 square feet.
“However, there were no injuries or loss of life reported,” he said late last night.
In response, he mentioned that the firefighting team used a 300-foot hose with two nozzles to extinguish the flames.
The operation, led by the Chief of the Kuala Kangsar Fire and Rescue Station, PKPgB Ahmad Izuwan Zakaria, concluded at 11:48 pm.
