TELUK INTAN: A more intense campaign and publicity will be carried out to encourage residents of Hilir Perak, especially Teluk Intan, to succeed in the environmental cleanliness campaign and avoid the use of plastic bags in the coming year.

Perak State’s Executive Councillor for Domestic Trade, Cooperatives, Consumer Affairs and New Chinese Villages, Woo Kah Leong, said this includes improving logistics and evaluating the effectiveness of nighttime garbage collection.

He added, the cleanliness campaign will not succeed without full participation from all parties, especially the public.

“I urge everyone to make this campaign a success, so that Teluk Intan is ready to welcome tourists for Visit Perak 2024,” he said.

He previously launched the environmental cleanliness and single-use plastic bag avoidance campaign for the Hilir Perak region.

Before the campaign began, in collaboration with the Minister of Local Government Development, Nga Kor Ming, they allocated RM100,000 to the Teluk Intan Municipal Council to purchase equipment.

This includes trash bins, roll-off bins and other cleaning equipment.

To ensure the success of this program next year, 30,000 recycling bags will be distributed to the residents of Teluk Intan.
