IPOH: The Service Center of the Teja State Legislative Assembly (DUN) has donated a closed-circuit television (CCTV) to be installed at the Tualang Tujuh Village Mosque in Simpang Pulai here.
Chairman of the Housing and Local Government Committee, Sandrea Ng Shy Ching, said the installation of the CCTV follows an attempted child abduction incident in the village recently.
“Recently, we were shocked by the attempted kidnapping of children in Kampung Tualang Tujuh by outsiders. Fortunately, the attempt was unsuccessful.
“As soon as we received the information, the Village Head of Sungai Ular, Abdullah Saidi and the Village Development and Safety Committee member, special officer, Simpang Pulai State Assemblyman Tan Kar Hing immediately visited the scene,” she said in a recent Facebook statement.
Sandrea said, after discussions and as a preventive measure, her service center donated a CCTV unit.
“The CCTV is to be installed at the village mosque to operate and monitor the main road areas there,” she said.
Meanwhile, she said, the Department of Social Welfare (JPKK) has also taken action to report the abduction incident to the police for further attention and action.
“All parties involved will continue to collaborate and intensify efforts to ensure that such incidents do not happen again,” she said.
