IPOH: The issue of bird droppings at the Ipoh KTM Station, as reported by Peraktastic/Ipoh Echo two days ago, received an immediate response from the Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB).
Through feedback provided on the Peraktastic Facebook page, KTMB acknowledged the issue.
KTMB will also collaborate with the Railway Assets Corporation (RAC) to find the best solution.
“We are aware of this issue. The station frequently faces problems with bird droppings as it has become a preferred shelter for birds.
“We will work with RAC to find the best solution.
“For main passenger pathways, we have gradually installed bird spikes to reduce the number of birds seeking shelter, while also carrying out regular cleaning for the comfort of users.
“Thank you for all your support,” said the statement, which was also shared with RAC.
Earlier, when the news was published, RAC also responded to Peraktastic/Ipoh Echo.
RAC stated that they had rescheduled cleaning works at the Hotel Majestic building.
“Greetings Peraktastic. Thank you for your concern.
“RAC has rescheduled cleaning works at the Hotel Majestic building and several nearby areas for the coming week. Thank you,” said that statement.
In previous reports, Peraktastic/Ipoh Echo highlighted complaints from users of the Ipoh KTM Station regarding bird droppings that dirtied the area, tarnishing its appearance.
Furthermore, many station users have been affected by the bird droppings, tarnishing the image of the iconic Ipoh railway station, a tourist landmark of the city.
