In a historic moment for Perak’s eco-tourism landscape, Tasik Cermin 2 was officially inaugurated, beckoning explorers and nature enthusiasts to a unique haven of natural wonders. Building on the success of Tasik Cermin’s initial venture, the launch of Tasik Cermin 2 marks a significant milestone in Perak’s tourism promotion for 2024.
Tasik Cermin’s journey from an abandoned quarry to Malaysia’s First Eco Adventure Quarry Park is a testament to the transformative power of environmental restoration. Initiated by the visionary collaboration between Majuperak Holdings Berhad (“MHB”) and Sabah Tea Garden (“STG”), Tasik Cermin has consistently attracted a growing number of visitors, reaching a remarkable milestone with over 75 thousand visitors in December 2023.
Tuan Syed Agil Syed Hashim, CEO of MHB, expressed the commitment to continuous improvement, citing the surge in visitors as evidence of their dedication to enhancing the region’s development. The success of Tasik Cermin paved the way for the development of Tasik Cermin 2, promising a new chapter in eco-tourism.
The utilisation of low-carbon battery-powered boats aligns with Perak State Government’s environmental sustainability goals, showcasing a commitment to preserving the region’s natural beauty. Tasik Cermin 2 stands as a beacon for responsible tourism, providing an extraordinary experience while respecting the delicate balance of the ecosystem.
Clr. Datuk Ahmad Hariri on behalf of Mayor of Ipoh, commended the collaboration between MHB and STG, expressing confidence that Tasik Cermin will become a must-visit destination. He highlighted the park’s potential to elevate Perak’s tourism industry, offering world-class products. Deputy Minister Khairul Firdaus emphasised Perak’s standing as a premier destination, highlighting ongoing efforts and strategic implementation by the State Government.
Key figures present at the inauguration included YB Tuan Loh Sze Yee, Chairman of the Tourism, Industry, Investment, and Corridor Development Committee, Datuk Redza Rafiq bin Abdul Razak (CEO of Perak State Development Corporation cum Chairman of Majuperak Holdings Berhad), En. Muhammad Aminuddin bin Abdul Majid (Director of MOTAC Perak), En. Alvin Wan (Director of Tasik Cermin Ipoh Sdn Bhd), and En. Ng Seong Ping (Director of Tasik Cermin Ipoh Sdn Bhd).
