BAGAN SERAI: A total of 80 motorcycles were inspected, with 33 being fined for various offences during the Ops Samseng Jalanan conducted at the Alor Pongsu Toll Plaza today.
District Police Chief of Kerian, Superintendent Juna Yusoff, stated that in the operation, nine motorcycles were also seized for further action in suspicion of being involved in street gang activities.
He mentioned that the operation was carried out by the Traffic Enforcement Investigation Division of the Kerian District Police Headquarters.
“It aims to curb immoral activities that are often carried out, especially on weekends at the Alor Pongsu Toll Plaza.
“This activity has caused concern among the local residents who reported to the police, worried about the safety of residents and road users in that area.
He added that in connection with this, the case is being investigated under Section 64 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Furthermore, the Kerian District Police welcomes everyone in providing information to collectively combat such immoral activities.
