DAYBREAK to hold Open Day and OKU Job Fair
By KT Leong
Disabled Adults and Youths Being Rewarded Encouraged and Accepted in Kinta (DAYBREAK), in collaboration with the Social Security Organization (PERKESO) of Malaysia and Pusat Aspirasi Anak Perak (PASAR), will be holding an Open Day & OKU Job Fair.
This Open Day and Job Fair for People with Disabilities (OKU) will be held to promote and raise awareness on the work being done by Daybreak, as well as the opportunities that are available for the OKU community. This includes both the young as well as the old.
Those OKU looking to enter the job market, as well as the parents and family of OKU, should visit this Open Day to see what are the options available to them. Daybreak and Perkeso hope to place as many as a hundred jobs with this event.
But the Open Day isn’t simply about job placement, but learning what Daybreak can do for the OKU, such as the training they can provide to ensure successful job placements, the incentives to subsidise the OKU’s cost of living, and even the follow-up services by Daybreak to ensure that the job placements are beneficial for all involved.
The Open Day will have many activities, from sales of snacks and crafts from participating schools, to open interviews for employment, free medical check ups by the Perak Community Specialist Hospital (PCSH), various workshops and other activities.
In addition, representatives of various potential employers like 99 Speedmart, Econsave and AG Apparel Industries will be there to conduct the open interviews.
There will also be booths, such as by Yayasan Ipoh as well as the opportunity to get information from Perkeso, on various benefits and incentives.
