IPOH: Situated in the heart of Ipoh City, the bus stop on Raja Ekram Street is bound to catch the eye of anyone passing by.
The facility, in a state of neglect, adorned with graffiti and litter, including food containers and beverage boxes, clearly indicates prolonged disregard.
It remains uncertain whether the bus stop is still operational, as it is rarely observed that anyone waits for a bus there nowadays.
Based on public complaints, a survey conducted by Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic journalists revealed the deplorable conditions at the bus stop.
The abandoned litter suggests a lack of civic responsibility among the residents of Ipoh who seem indifferent to cleanliness.
While the area may have been cleaned by sanitation workers, it appears to be consistently dirtied by those who are irresponsible. Alternatively, is the filthy environment a result of the increasing number of immigrants in Ipoh?
Regardless of the reason, a cleaning effort is imperative to maintain a positive image of Ipoh in the eyes of external visitors.
