MANJUNG : Unique and exclusive.
These are the suitable words to describe this product.
By using only plants readily available around Manjung, the process can create t-shirts, tote bags, cushions, office decorations, and more.
This eco-print batik is a sustainable tourism product introduced in conjunction with the Visit Perak Year 2024 in the Manjung region.
Managed by Ghomah Batik Manjung in collaboration with the Manjung Municipal Council (MPM), Persatuan Aktivis Sahabat Alam (KUASA), Laman Karya Lumut (LAKAR) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
This aims to produce environmentally friendly, quality products with zero chemicals.
The leaves used in creating these products are processed by MPM to produce compost fertilizer.
Meanwhile, the water is utilized by MPM to irrigate the landscape trees around the Manjung region.
The demonstration of producing this eco-print batik was attended by the President of MPM, Syamsul Hazeman Md Salleh, and other senior officials.
Also present was the founder of Ghomah Batik Manjung, Elizawati Elias.
