IPOH: Interest in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) was sparked through the Learning Robotics Easy program organized by Politeknik Ungku Omar (PUO).

This corporate social responsibility activity was managed by 15 lecturers and students from the Robotics Club of the Department of Information Technology and Communication (JTMK).

It was attended by 30 participants from Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Gunung Rapat.

Under the guidance of their instructor, Nurizah Mahmor, they, as facilitators, focused on practical learning related to robotics and computer programming.

This session used the Micro Rero robot and programming using Scratch.

According to Nurizah, the objective of this program is to strengthen cooperation between PUO and the local community.

“This can also provide exposure to school students about the importance of STEM and stimulate interest in robotics.

“Through this approach, we can also strengthen leadership skills, communication, and teamwork among students,” she said.
