IPOH: The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, graciously attended to inaugurate the Women, Children, and Cardiology Complex (KWKK) at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (HRPB) here recently.
Also present at the event were Raja Permaisuri Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim; Raja Muda Perak, Raja Jaafar Raja Muda Musa; Raja Puan Besar Perak, Raja Nazhatul Shima Sultan Idris A’fifullah Shah and Raja DiHilir Perak, Raja Iskandar Dzurkarnain Sultan Idris A’fifullah Shah.
Also present were Menteri Besar Perak, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad and his wife, Datin Seri Aezer Zubin; Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja, Jen. Datuk Seri DiRaja Tan Sri (Dr.) Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin (Bersara) and his wife, Toh Puan Datin Seri Diraja Puan Sri Hajah Rasiah Md. Nor and Minister of Health, Datuk Seri Dr. Dzulkefly Ahmad.
Dr. Dzulkefly, during his speech, mentioned that the construction of KWKK, which has been operating since December 2019, incurred expenses of RM237 million, covering an area of 14,671 square meters under the allocation of RMK-10.
He stated that with the existence of KWKK, HRPB is among the three largest hospitals in Malaysia, following Hospital Kuala Lumpur and Hospital Pulau Pinang, featuring a capacity of 1,394 beds, 22 operating theaters, 33 adult intensive care unit beds, 10 cardiac care unit beds, 12 pediatric intensive care unit beds (PICU), and 24 neonatal intensive care unit beds.
“This 10-story complex accommodates a total of 404 beds and is equipped with 304 parking spaces for staff and visitors,” he added.
Furthermore, he mentioned that the Ministry of Health has also approved funding for the acquisition of new beds, amounting to RM1.2 million for 250 bed sets.
