MANJUNG: Ipoh Police Headquarters (IPD) was crowned the champion of the KP Hero Perak 2024 Football Championship held at the Majlis Perbandaran Manjung Stadium here on Friday.
The final match witnessed intense competition between the IPD Ipoh team and the IPD Gerik team.
The IPD Ipoh team successfully defeated IPD Gerik with a penalty shootout score of 3 – 1 after both teams were tied 0 – 0.
The champion took home a cash prize of RM500 along with the championship trophy.
The KP Hero Perak 2024 Football Championship, organized by IPD Manjung in Manjung, commenced on February 26 and lasted until March 1, 2024.
A total of 16 teams, consisting of 15 IPDs from across Perak and the Perak Contingent Police Headquarters, participated in this championship.
IPD Ipoh won two special awards throughout the course of this tournament
Constable Ahmad Asraf Zulkapli as the top scorer with nine goals and Lance Corporal Wan Mohd Fakih as the best goalkeeper.
Meanwhile, the best player of the 2024 KP Hero Perak final was won by Mohd Ridzuan from IPD Gerik.
Perak Police Chief, Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri, also attended to officiate the match.
