IPOH: The issue of lack of facilities at Pangkor Jetty, which failed to provide comfort to visitors as previously reported by Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic, has received attention.
Perak State Housing and Local Government Exco, Sandrea Ng, informed that her office acknowledges there are issues and the complaints are valid.
During her field visit to the tourist island, she assured that the replacement of damaged seats would be done gradually.
As reported by Sinar Harian, the replacement of new seats is currently being carried out in stages, and the viral image of the seats is from the last group to be replaced.
Attention is also given to the lack of trash bin facilities.
At the same time, the cleaning service will also be told to ensure there is no accumulation of garbage, thus providing a less unsightly view.
Previously, Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic reported that the Majlis Perbandaran Manjung (MPM) should monitor the facilities at the Pangkor Island Jetty to ensure the comfort of tourists, especially special tourists.
The lack of facilities such as seats for visitors waiting to board boats is a problem that needs to be addressed, especially during school holiday seasons.
Most disheartening and sad is that elderly people have to sit on the ground for hours in hot and rainy conditions.
The seating facilities provided are not only old but mostly damaged and worn out.
