IPOH: Women play a crucial role in the institution of society and community, especially in building harmonious families.
Therefore, women are not only great in the kitchen but also lead families.
This was voiced by the Malaysian Indian Women’s Association (Malaysia India Magalir Iyakkam), which aims to empower Malaysian women, especially in Perak.
The president of this association, Dr. T. Ramanayagem, stated that women’s contributions to society are recognized as they possess strength and spirit.
“We urge women to lead families and even the nation because women’s contributions are not limited to the kitchen alone.
“Women need to keep up with the current developments, especially in today’s challenging environment,” he said, also a former Member of the Ipoh City Council.
These remarks were made while addressing the Annual General Meeting of the Malaysia India Magalir Iyakkam held recently.
Malaysia India Magalir Iyakkam is a women’s association active in Perak, especially in Ipoh, involved in organizing women’s programs.
These include celebrating Women’s Day, National Day, Pongal festival, and conducting courses for women to empower them further.
