IPOH – A total of 13 teams representing all 12 District Health Offices in the state of Perak were involved in a recent operation under the Destruction of Disease-Bearing Insects Act (APSPP) 1975.
The operation under APSPP was conducted by the Inspection and Legislation Branch in collaboration with the Vector Branch of the Perak State Health Department and the Kinta District Health Office.
The operation also involved 57 authorized officers and lasted for 2 days from April 2nd to April 3rd, 2024, in the vicinity of the Silibin Industrial Center and the Silibin Light Industrial Center.
A total of 168 premises were inspected, resulting in 39 cleaning notices issued under Section 8 of APSPP 1975.
Additionally, 37 violation notices were issued after it was found that there was a breeding of mosquito larvae within the premises during the inspections, in contravention of Section 13 of APSPP 1975.
The estimated compound value collected amounted to RM18,500.
The Perak State Health Department advises the public to ensure that business premises, workplaces, and residential premises are always clean and free from Aedes mosquito breeding.
