In celebration of the upcoming Vesakhi, there will be an event over the weekend, from 12 to 14 April, at the Gurdwara Sahib Buntong, Ipoh.
Traditionally celebrated annually on 13 April and sometimes 14 April, Vesakhi is seen as a spring harvest celebration primarily in Punjab and Northern India.
Starting Friday at 6 am, there will be a reciting of morning prayers. Followed by the changing of the flag at 8 am, and then the reading of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji at 9.30 am.
On Saturday, there will be a continuation of the Reading of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Finally, on Sunday, starting at 8.30 am there will be the reading of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji prayers, followed by the chanting and explanation about daily Sikh prayers starting at 10 am, with the final prayers Reading of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji at 11.30 am.
From 9 am to 12 pm on Sunday, there will also be a free medical camp and blood donation drive by Hospital Batu Gajah KKM and Hospital Seri Botani.
