Osaka, Japan: Efforts to promote the Visit Perak Year 2024 (VPY2024) have now extended to the land of the rising sun, Japan.
This initiative was pursued through a Tourism Seminar held in conjunction with VPY2024 in Osaka, Japan, organized by the Perak State Government through Tourism Perak Management Berhad.
Led by the Chief Minister of Perak, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad, the seminar took place during his investment mission to Japan from April 23rd to 27th, 2024.
According to a statement from Tourism Perak, the state government is constantly exploring new, more aggressive market opportunities, especially in Japan.
“The uniqueness of Perak, rich in eco-tourism products, heritage, culture, and gastronomy, is capable of attracting the attention of Osaka’s population of 19 million residents. Among the potential tourist products are the Lenggong Valley as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Tasik Cermin, Royal Belum, Lenggong Geopark, and Kinta Geopark,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, Tourism Perak has also launched the Perak Guide Book and a 4.43-minute official VPY2024 video in Japanese.
“These promotional materials will be distributed around various locations including the Tourism Malaysia Osaka Office, MIDA Osaka, Kansai International Airport, hotels and resorts, as well as tourism agency offices in Osaka, Japan. Through this initiative, Tourism Perak aims to achieve its target of attracting eight million tourists to the state of Perak in 2024,” they added.
Previously, Tourism Perak had established a strategic partnership with a Japanese multinational company, Canon, to boost the VPY2024 campaign.
