Sultan Azlan Shah Cup: World-Class Teams Vie for Victory

IPOH: A total of 6 top teams from around the globe will exhibit their skills in the prestigious invitational tournament, the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup, at the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Stadium.

The outstanding teams include Pakistan, Japan, New Zealand, Korea, Canada, and the host nation, Malaysia.

The prestigious hockey championship will kick off today and run until May 11.

In this 30th edition of the championship, Malaysia, ranked 13th in the world, will face New Zealand (10), South Korea (11), Pakistan (5), Japan (16), and Canada (19).

The Speedy Tigers will commence their Sultan Azlan Shah Cup challenge against the Pakistan team tonight at 8:30 PM.

The national squad has listed 18 players who will carry Malaysia’s challenge.

Malaysia’s best achievement in this championship was in 2022 when they emerged as champions.

In a friendly match against New Zealand earlier, the national squad rose to the occasion, defeating their opponents 3-2 at the Azlan Shah Stadium.

Therefore, to all supporters of the national squad, especially the residents of Ipoh City, do not miss the opportunity to witness this prestigious hockey championship.
