Ipoh: The Queen of Perak, Tuanku Zara Salim, graciously attended a dinner ceremony in conjunction with the 30th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup Hockey Championship at the Royal Perak Golf Club (RPGC), here recently.
Also present were Menteri Besar Perak, Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad; President of the International Hockey Federation (FIH), Datuk Tayyab Ikram; State Secretary of Perak, Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim; President of the Malaysian Hockey Confederation (KHM), Datuk Sri Subahan Kamal; President of the Perak Hockey Association (PHP), Datuk Mohd Sayuti Abdul Samad and Chairman of the Perak Education, Higher Education, Youth and Sports Committee, Khairudin Abu Hanipah.
During the event, Tuanku Zara also graciously presented souvenirs to each participating team manager.
Mohd Sayuti, in his speech, stated that Tuanku Zara’s presence at the evening event demonstrated her confidence and dedication to the development of hockey in the country.
“It serves as an encouragement and will further enhance the spirit for my team to focus efforts even more diligently for the interest and progress of the sport,” he said.
In this tournament, participating teams include Malaysia, Pakistan, Canada, New Zealand, Japan, and Korea.
