KAMPAR: Continuous heavy rain for more than two hours last evening caused the river to overflow and flash floods occurred in Kampung Tanjung Tin, here.
According to the spokesperson of the District Control Center (PKOD) of the Civil Defence Force (APM) of the Kinta District, the incident occurred around 6.30 pm on Wednesday.
He said seven houses were affected by the flood.
“The continuous heavy rain for more than two hours and the overflowing of the river flooded into the nearby residential areas.
“The Kinta APM has arrived at the flash flood location to monitor and assess the flash flood in the village.
“It was found this morning at 8:15 am, that water is still present around the outside of the house but according to the assessment from the Village Headman and APM, the water is starting to recede,” he said in a statement here today.
He added that the water is starting to recede but rather slowly and stagnant flooding occurred in residential areas.
“It was found that water is only outside the residential area (stagnant flooding). The water receding trend is slow (knee level),” he said again.
