BAGAN DATUK: Two men died while another was injured after the Proton Iswara car they were in skidded into a ditch near the Bagan Datuk Sports Complex here today.
According to the Assistant Director of Operations at the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, the incident occurred around 3:25 AM today.
He stated that personnel from the Hutan Melintang Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) were rushed to the location.
“It was found that the accident involved a Proton Iswara car that had veered into a ditch, involving three victims.
“Two of them were trapped inside the car, while another was thrown out of the same vehicle,” he said in a media statement here today.
Sabarodzi explained that the operations commander then conducted a size-up and directed personnel to use rescue equipment to extricate the victims.
“Two of the victims were confirmed dead at the scene by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) and were handed over to the police for further action.
“Another victim, who sustained injuries, was taken to the hospital for further treatment,” he added.
The operation, involving nine personnel, was led by Senior Fire Officer II, Mohd Nafis Nazmi Bin Abdul Hadi, and concluded at 4:50 AM.
