IPOH: There are various ways to contribute to the community.
For lecturer Afi Roshezry Abu Bakar, he chose to conduct free history tuition classes for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) candidates.
The tuition classes are organized by the Rukun Tetangga Club (KRT) of Taman Pengkalan Jaya, Al Furqan Mosque, and the UMNO Ipoh Timor Training Bureau.
These free sessions are held in the study area of Al
Furqan Mosque, involving children from the local housing community.
For him, sharing his knowledge is a contribution to helping the children in the local community sharpen their skills in the subject.
Afi Roshezry, a political science lecturer at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) Kampar Campus, is generous in sharing his knowledge with the students.
He mentioned that these classes are conducted periodically and have been well-received.
“Many of these students are from the local community, and I have known most of them since they were young.
“As a university lecturer, I would feel it’s a waste if I didn’t share my knowledge in this subject to help these students further sharpen their skills.
“At the same time, we want these children to spend their weekends engaged in beneficial activities,” he said.
For student Ahmad Ihsan Iskander, the tuition classes also provide effective techniques for answering exam questions.
“I think these tuition classes are great because we get new insights,” he said.
Afi Roshezry also mentioned that, in addition to the tuition classes, KRT Taman Pengkalan Jaya is active in organizing various community programs involving local residents.
