SIMPANG PULAI: The kitchen of Shen Jai Secondary School’s canteen here was 80 percent destroyed by fire last night.
According to Perak’s Assistant Director of Operations for the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, the incident occurred at 8:42 PM.
As a result, he said, personnel from the Simpang Pulai Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) rushed to the scene.
“The school’s canteen kitchen, measuring 15×15, was 80 percent burned; however, no victims were involved.
“Firefighters then conducted a size-up and applied the RECEO concept.
“The fire was extinguished using a tanker’s water supply hose until the fire was completely put out,” he said here today.
The operation, led by Senior Fire Officer II Saiful Yazan Mohd Shariff, involved eight personnel and ended at 9:32 PM.
